Everything excellent
We came for the Porthcawl Elvis Festival, and couldn't fault anything or anyone at the hotel, so we are booked in again for this year. we would recommend it to anyone.

Quality service and food, clean and warm.
I really must counter the comments made by Jane last year. Opinions are always going to be personal and true for the moment, given the staff employed on the day, but our experience during this weekend (April 2007) has been one of clean, well provisioned rooms, excellent food at breakfast and evening meal, unobtrusive staff and a real pleasure for our stay. The TV has 3 sports channels and one in Welsh, which leave it a bit restrictive if you're not into these, but with our view over the sea, we would highly recommend The Atlantic.
I have suggested adding Wi-fi, which would also make it great for those wanting to keep in touch with the rest of the world (did you say sad?).

Very good service and food quality
Although I have never stayed at the Hotel, I have been on many occasions for meals in the evening and also at lunchtime. I have always found the staff very friendly and the quality of food to be excellent on each visit.

Avoid this hotel at all costs
The location of the hotel is good and everything else about it awful. I am sure Wormwood Scrubs serves better food and they don't have to pay top prices for it. Any encounter with the owner Mrs Booth is like a moment from Little Britain, where you can't quite believe what you are seeing. Her rudeness and general demeanour would turn milk sour from 50 paces away. My advice, go to the Fairways, the hotel next door which thankfully was able to accommodate us and save us from this hell hole.
