Splendid Service
It was a pleasure to find a hotel where the staff clearly enjoy their work - everyone was always cheerful and helpful. Food was excellent, varied and plentiful. There was always a vegetarian option. Excellent value for money. A very comfortable hotel.

What a way to spend Christmas
The Somerset Hotel was more like a Care Home than an Hotel. The entertainment was practically non existant. No party atmospher at all. I expected to have a jolly time on a Christmas holiday, but it was anything but jolly. The one redeaming factor was the food, which was good.

Wonderful Holiday
Really enjoyed our family holiday this summer, found the staff to be really friendly and helpful, could not do enough for us. Food was excellent, portions were generous and overall good choice. The hotel is well situated in the town for the beach, which is where my kids spent most mornings, the shops are very close, so ideal for me. The room was spacious, clean and contained everything we needed. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for value for money in a traditional seaside resort. Definitely re-booking for next year, just need the sun again to make it perfect. Who wants to go to a tacky place in spain!

Hotel needs first Clients needs second
Great sea view BUT Characature of the B & B Industry from 40 years ago. Breakfast still the same as another writer's report i.e. quarter of a slice of fried bread! Cleared condiments whilst we were still eating. When we returned from breakfast the maid was in our room which we hadn't vacated,(it was only 9.15am!). Smiling a problem. Wash basin in bedroom as ensuite not big enough for it.
....And the tourist industry wonder why people prefer to go abroad - this is a large seafront hotel in a popular resort, great potential but just needs to be customer and not hotel orientated and better value for money!

No problems
I did not encounter any of the above problems during my weeklong stay. Very reasonable prices for this time of year and location. Food was more than adequate, although a buffet breakfast is still preferable for me, and juice was freely available! I didn't stay at the hotel for the evening entertainment, so I can't really comment. Polite and cheerful staff.
