Exellent hotel and value for money

I have stayed at the Empire Hotel and I found it very welcoming. The staff in all departments are extremely friendly, and i would not hesitate in recommending the Empire to my friends and family. The meals are exellent value for money and very tasty indeed.

Classy and atmospheric rooms.

Simply wonderful, beautiful rooms, though some quite small. Classy atmospheric and great value for money (if you go at the right time.)
One critisism ( and I hope the hotel read this ) the meals have gradually got smaller over the last five years, though still great food it seems they are not as keen to please the diner as they were ten years ago. My family all agree with this point, at one time it was nigh impossible to reach the sweet course, now it's the norm with cheese to finish ( a very small piece might I add ) what a shame.
I have been staying there for 23 years so I think I have gained the right to comment on this easily fixed problem.
Still dearly love the place though but not so keen to tell visiting friends the food is spectacular, which it certainly was not so long ago.
Gradually decorated my house and property in Turkey in the same style
complete with panelling!!

We have stayed here four times albeit not in the last 2 years. It was really interesting to read the review about the staff because my exact words to my husband last time we stayed were " It's a lovely hotel but the staff (especially on reception) are unfriendly which spoils it". We decided not to stay again although we do miss the lovely rooms and excellent food we don't miss the atmosphere !

Dissappointing

We stayed in the empire in august 2004 after reading the reviews on this site. The room was victorian in style and the decor was pretty much as old. The bathroom itself was a partition of the room but as the ceiling was vaulted the walls were not carried up to the top. You therefore saw the light fittings and wires etc. There was no shower or even a shower hose to wash your hair. The bath was old and grubby. The wallpaper appeared to have had not been done professionally and was coming off. the walls were so thin you could hear the tv in the next room until 1am. check your room before staying. dissappointed at £125 per night. no more than a 3 star.

A55 Chaos

Despite the travel delay caused by the A55 reconstruction , this excellent hotel faciltated a late meal at very short notice.

If you want to treat yourselves this is the place.

I wish the A55 traffic management was as good as the managment of this Hotel.

We stay at the Empire at least once a year and find this hotel to be excellent value for money and recommend it to all of our friends.

I have stayed at the Empire Hotel with my husband on several occasions.
We have always enjoyed our stay. We have experienced many hotels throughout the UK and find that the Empire is still the best value for money. The rooms are very comfortable with lovely little extra touches that you don't find in a lot of hotels. The food is very good in the Restuarant and the staff are always very polite and friendly.
We are just about to book our 4th stay at the Empire in 2 years, so I think that says it all.

Great hotel in Llandudno

Have just spent a weekend at this hotel and what a delight. Our room was in the annex at 72 and it felt like stepping back in time with all the mod cons. Beautifully furnished, nice touches such as freshly ground coffeee, loose tea and sherry! and the bed was very large and comfy! Staff were attentive and very pleasant and the food served in the dining room was excellent. Will be revisiting asap.

Unique hotel, mostly good food but service standards are slipping

The Empire is a unique hotel and prices are not too bad for the facilities and food. The food is usually good. I have been staying there for many years, and always loved the hotel, but have noticed that standards do seem to be slipping. I wonder if a number of the more experienced staff have now left?; during our last visit (when we were dining in a group of 6) there were a few very inexperienced and apparently new waiting staff - they were quite appalling and one even cleared the glasses before we finished our wine. When we commented, he tried to redistribute the used glasses, not knowing who had used each glass. We also ordered champagne for delivery to a friend's room - it arrived in our own room, much later than promised. Unfortunately breakfast was also a disaster for the duration of the visit - food undercooked or cold, or the order was wrong.

Pricey but worth every penny/pound!!

We stayed 2 nights in the No. 72 annex and had 3 rooms with B&B & Dinner at about 130-135 pounds per room per night. One room was on the first floor in the front, second was first floor side and last room was 3rd floor front(best), all air conditioned. All rooms were beautiful, clean, loaded with great extras, and maybe the best we have seen in all of the U.K.. Food was excellent and we found ourselves wishing we had more time to spend there. For me personally, the highlight was the bedding. I will spend the next couple of months trying to secure bedding that resembles theirs in comfort at great cost. I have never had more comfortable sleeping arrangements and am convinced the pillows saved me a back doctor visit. Location is the best and town offers tons of shopping and things to do, again in a very clean enviroment.

Why go there? Llandudno is ok but I suspect that I am not alone in the view that one visit per lifetime is about right!

The Orme You have just got to take a walk up the Orme, beautiful scenery and a total getaway from it all

Nice British resort Not a lot to do here but the scenery in this part of the world is great
