Historical Traveller Reviews of Adcote House Hotel
Highly recommended!from kayan83
Adcote House has everything!from AliceCapeTown
A wonderful, relaxing stay!from madmum33
The double room had a king size bed with fresh white bed linen and a richly coloured bedspread. The furniture was in keeping with the Victorian house, and there were lovely personal touches to make the room cosy. A small folder contained information about the local area including good restaurants, pubs and fish and chip shops.
The en-suite facilities were excellent, with a separate WC and a large shower room. Towels and toiletries were provided.
The only thing missing was a view as we were at the rear of the house, but that's a minor fault that didn't impact on our stay at all.
Breakfasts were out of this world........ on the first morning we got to the dining room at 8.25am, 5 minutes early, but Tony was there ready to offer us tea or coffee, show us to our table and tell us to help ourselves to cereal, orange juice, fruit (a choice of grapefruit or prunes) and yoghurt. The tea arrived in seconds, and as soon as we finished our cereal Tony appeared again with toast, and to take our order. The full breakfast arrived quickly - delicious bacon, sausage, egg (fried, poached or scrambled), grilled tomato, mushrooms and baked beans, all cooked perfectly by Anne. Whenever the toast rack was empty it was replaced by a new one with more hot toast.
This pattern was repeated every morning throughout our five night stay, during which we explored Llandudno, Snowdonia and Bodnant Gardens without needing to buy lunch as the breakfast kept us going all day!
I can't recommend Adcote House highly enough, and plan to stay there again next year.

1st class waiterfrom jadren
just returned from a short break at the adcote, as it was a last minute booking i was unsure of what to expect. i need not have worried. As the room had been cleaned the previous day our host Tony said we could check in whenever we arrived in Llandudno He greeted us at the door and showed us to a spotless clean comfortable room.
once settled in we were offered information about good places to eat and directions to places of interest.
as the hotel is just a very short walk to town and the beach we left the car at the hotel and did not use it for the rest of our stay.
Breakfast each morning was lovely and more than ample Tony was our waiter and could not do enough for everyone.
will definately revisit and would reccommend it without reservation.
Beautiful Victorian Vacationfrom JeannetToronto
It has been lovingly restored with amazing detail to a Victorian Townhome. Anne and Tony only take 12 guests at a time, no children, no pets. There is parking in front. The house is magnificent with lounge (for guests use) and dining room with 2 seater tables in lovely linens, on the first floor. We were there with our daughter and son-in -law so we had 2 rooms. We chose the suite which is lovely - separate lounge area off your bedroom
with 2 reading chairs, table with your tea making facitlities, and gas fireplace. The bedroom is very spacious with makeup table, very comfortable bed, writing table by the window, large wardrobe, and large dresser, and off this is your bathroom - which is well equipped and very clean. Our daughter had a deluxe room which was very large and had a sitting area that easily accomodated 4 people and a large bathroom. Both rooms were very tastefully decorated with all the little touches to make you feel at home. Breakfast is served in the dining room - you have a choice of cereals, orange juice, fruit, yogurt, and then the full english breakfast - eggs bacon, sausage, beans, and as much toast as you want with individual preserves on each table - Tony wants to make your breakfast special (and Anne is in the kitchen cooking up your orders. Tony is also very knowledgeable about the best places top eat and ones to avoid. The town is quite large and has a huge shopping area and lots of choices of where to eat. If you are looking for good fish and chips go to the shop just beside the tram up the Great Orme but go early because they close at 7 pm ( we got there at 7:10 not knowing this but the shop owner kindly stayed open for us and we had a lovely chat with him). If you want a good lunch and be able to sit outside go to the Lounge - the men ordered hamburgers and they must have been close to 1/2 a pound - they were huge! Again the service was so friendly! And all the food is made with fresh ingredients - our daughter loved her salad.Just around the corner from the Adcote is a small, family-run,cosy restaurant called the "Candles Restaurant" - we all chose the 3-course meal but with different choices and everything was good- and for those with big appetites the portions were very large. We were all stuffed at the end of dinner and couldn't even fit in a tea or coffee! But do save room for your dessert course as you'll be glad you did. We were in Llandudno for 4 nights and it was always nice to return to the Adcote House at the end of the day. There is a pier in this town also which you can walk out on for an evening stroll and ther are 2 arcades on the pier although they do close early. In fact, don't try to get a late night coffee the cafes will be closed!
But the pubs will be open - again we tried the pub at the tram station one night for dinner and it was good also - although the service was a little slow - I think our waiter was being trained and he was a bit forgetful. But the food was much better than the usual pub fair. If your feeling like visiting the beach, want to do some shopping, and want to be able to hike to, Llandudno is for you. And I would without hesitation recommend the Adcote House B and B. Say hi to Tony from his Toronto guests!
