Arrived for an overnight stop before catching ferry, supposedly family room, not big enough to swing a cat, room was very dirty, on looking at where we were supposed to eat breakfast, that sealed our fate,we were so disgusted we walked out and went to see if we could catch evening ferry, fortuately for us we could but not ideal with 2 children under 3yrs though better than staying in a substandard accomodation. It also seems the chef had left so who was going to cook breakfast and what would it consist of.

Hotel in hell

This hotel was picked as it stated that it was on the edge of Pembroke National Park with great walks directly from the hotel. Rubbish. Fishguard is just a very tiny town with one restaurant and a couple of so-so pubs. The hotel is surrounded by the main road to the ferry, extremely noisy, and the noise from the outside bar continued until well after 1am. The landlord is so anti-welsh, it is unbelievable. The rooms were tiny and the so-called en-suite had the hand basin in the bedroom and the shower was so poor barely a dribble came out of the head. All in all I would never stay here again. You could not go anywhere without getting into your car. Our idea of a holiday is not to use the car.

Pleasantly Suprised

From reading previous reviews, I have to say I was anxious about my stay at the hotel. But on arival, I have to say I was completely suprised. Hotel is under new management, and this is obvious from the lounge and bar area which have been done out beautifully. Like other reviewers have noticed, the rooms are a little dated, but having said that they are absolutely spotless and comfy, and lets be honest, you don't travel to an area so beautiful to spend your time in your hotel bed. Im sure its only a matter of time before these are matched in with the downstairs theme. Overall a great budget hotel which I would reccomend!

Worst hotel

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in - it’s a complete dump! Location is slap bang on a busy road that at midnight is filled with people coming back from Ireland - don't expect to get any sleep until about 3am. The rooms are tiny, and haven't been refurbished since the 80's - the tiny bathroom was full of mold. Restaurant we only had breakfast in thank god – the breakfast was ok (it filled a hole I guess) but it comprised of the cheapest bacon and sausages I think you could buy. The staff were ok although I wouldn’t describe them as exactly friendly. It’s cheapish and that's the one good thing about it All in all, we stayed in a travel inn the previous night and that place seems like a luxury hotel compared to this place – avoid at all costs!
