Top Local Tips for Beddgelert
The Bistro in Bedddgelert We ate out once at the Bistro in Beddgelert. It is by the bridge on the same road as the road leading to Sygun Fawr. I was not overly impressed with any of the pubs (I visited them all) but the Bistro was a discovery. It is a fascinating little restaurant on three levels, including a cellar, but we had a nice window seat as it was mid-week off season and quiet when we went there. Dishes had some unique sauces - I had one of the 'specials' - a fish I had not heard of with an orangey sauce - and rarely have I gone somewhere and actually had something new to me that tastes so different and delicious.
Be Prepared... We were able to enjoy the snow on the mountains but always ensure you have all the necessary and correst clothes you need for sightseeing, touring and walking. The weather can change very quickly, particularly walking in the hills and all the books suggest that Snowdown, because of the train that takes tourists to the top, is one of the easier peaks to walk in the UK, the change in weather can make it very dangerous.
Time Out Take time to walk around dont just drive through you will be surprised if you have teenagers who like Pizza etc the visit the restaurant in the village.
