I couldn't understand why this Hotel achieved less stars than the hotel close by,which is evidently not as luxurious,until I realised that one is assessed as a Hotel (The Feathers)and the other an Inn for goodness sake - in the case of just about everywhere else locally. What a ridiculous system for Welsh Tourism and how confusing. I think we should all write letters to the Tourist Board or whatever name they have adopted now (isn't it visitwales or something daft?) - and complain.

This Hotel is a cut above anywhere that I have stayed recently. It has been expensively re-furbished, with quality fittings and bathrooms and all those little touches that make a hotel special (G & Soames toiletries, cafetieres in the room, huge comfortable beds with fluffy duvets and pillows, linen napkins at the tables,etc etc.)

The food should win an award! I tried the Scallops with Chorizo sausages and risotto, followed by the medaillons of Pork and undaunted by the calories finished off with panacotta and berries. All divine, as was the breakfast - beautifully served at the table without this buffet nonsense that you get everywhere. Massive selection.
Treat yourselves and don't miss this place - it would be triple in London or even Cardiff.

Bus service If you don't feel like driving, leave your car at the hotel and catch a bus, they have a really good bus service a short walk from the hotel
