Went to the Harviestoun last weekend. Read the previous review. (Rubbish!) We arrived on Saturday at about six pm, and there was a wedding on (obvious by the people in kilts in the courtyard!) Didn't know there was a wedding on at the time (and the staff looked stressed) but the service was great, fast and the manager took our order and apologised if the service may be slow due to the function. But it wasn't. We had three courses, and enjoyed our evening very much

My wife and I and daughter went to this 'hotel' for a meal last Saturday at 6pm. We went into the bar/restaurant area and were given menus and our drinks order was taken. The manageress then spotted us and told us we couldn't have a meal because they had a wedding on!! For a hotel not to be able to cope with a wedding and other customers is pathetic. The wedding was in another part of the hotel so were were not disrupting anything.
I don't understand how some people can run businesses with that attitude and short sightedness. How easy would it have been to get another body in the kitchen duh!
We have just moved into the area and will not be going back there for a meal in the future.
