| A welcome spot for walkers! |
|
I didn't actually stay at the Inversnaid hotel but we passed it while walking the West Highland Way. We stopped there and were allowed to use the toilets, even with very muddy boots on, and bought refreshments, which we drank outside on the hotel's picnic benches eating our own food. We saw lots of other walkers either sitting in the bar, in the toilets or sitting outside. I felt very welcome and we commented on the reasonable price of the refreshments. This was in contrast to the reception we and other walkers received at a another hotel. There was a big sign up saying walkers were not allowed to use the toilets and you were not allowed to eat your own food anywhere on site! Plus staff appeared very grumpy compared the relaxed and friendly staff at the Inversnaid. |

As a hillwalker and backpacker. I have for many years tried to secure any kind of accommodation at the Inversnaid. However, they dont accept walkers or people on the West Highland Way.. and they dont mind telling you! "Not Welcome" seems to be their Motto.!! |
