First Class

from A TripAdvisor Member
Yes it may be modern and American in style but the service from when you drive up to departing was first class, the staff were helpful in every way, making for a most relaxing break. If only more hotels would follow there standards! Will most deffinatly go back!

American Scotland

from AndrewCrown
This hotel is an American concoction, it wouldn't surprise me if this place had been built in Florida and shipped over. It's big, clean, modern & business focussed. Having said that the staff in this hotel were very friendly, very helpful, everything works and it's a pleasant enough place to be. Minor niggles, had to coach the barman to make a gin and tonic properly, breakfast to the room was tepid as opposed to hot.

American efficiency but no soul

from Deramore
This is a little piece of America in Scotland. If that's what you want, fair enough, but it will not come cheap and don't expect to hear many Scots accents amongst the staff or indeed the guests. It really is like doing the Scotland experience in Las Vegas: everything feels so manufactured.

Our breakfast in the room order was mislaid. I was told that the Scotsman newspaper was routinely provided in the morning, but a different one could be ordered. Imagine my surprise when my both it and the Times arrived, both of which I was of course charged for.

Don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic hotel, but you may want to choose something a bit more traditional if you want to feel you are actually in Scotland. Otherwise, what's the point?

A Must for all

will go again but wife thought they were to friendly and was paranoid ha ha ha. what can i say- great breakfast buffet and a la carte menu. lunch at kittocks den was fantastic- menu was simple yet extravagant at the same time, precision menu making should i say at the least. clubhouse for snack- tomato and mozarella w/ homemade pesto panini was lovely and filled me up just perfect complimenting the extravagant views of the sea and golf courses.

Superb service

from bluebairn
Just returned from one night at St Andrews Bay. This hotel is excellent. Our room was large and beautifully appointed. The en suite was luxurious....and the heated floor was a lovely touch. The standard of service was of the highest level..friendly and very helpful. We were accompanied by our Dalmatian dog. Again this was not a problem for the hotel. This was our second visit to St Andrews Bay but it will not be our last.

We stayed at this hotel for three night during our travels throughout Scotland. The hotel is new, modern, and very comfortable. The staff was truely some of the best we've experience anywhere. The bed was very comfortable, bath was gorgeous with a heated floor! Do yourself a favor, if you're going to be in St. Andrews, stay here.

Excellent hotel

I recommend people to stay in this hotel when visiting St andrews.
The environment is nice and the view of the golf course is magnificient. The staff are very friendly. They have shuttle bus running hourly from resort to city centre, and the bus trip is just around 10-15min. Very convenient!! Besides, they answer email quite quick and this really helps me to plan for the trip. The room is spacious. Simply speaking, this is an excellent hotel!

Super Stay

from jambo1
We stayed only one night in the Hotel, but it was fantastic. The staff from the moment we arrived until we left were friendly and professional. The room was large and the en suite was superb. The meal at night was one of the best we have had and a nice touch was added when they found out it was my partners birthday they brought out a 'birthday dessert' complete with candle. Would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to go back.

Fantastic stay

from JacksonsSurrey
My husband and myself chose to spend Mothers Day and my Birthday in March this year at this wonderful Hotel. We discovered it by accident last year when our original booking at another hotel was double booked and on arrival we were whisked away to a suite at the Bay.

From our windows last time and this time we had a fantastic view of the Golf course and down to the sea with St Andrews town in the distance. Having stayed there twice in a suite and a double room on the top floor I can highly recommend this Hotel. We have stayed at several other Hotels in St Andrews and this is the only one that I would recommend.

The staff are courteous, the rooms are large with all amenities and the bathrooms are fabulous. Treat yourself to a stay here. You can even enjoy spa treatments, a great gym and swimming pool. The Scottish breakfast is one of the best we've ever enjoyed. This is a Great Hotel. Can't wait to go back there.

t wait to go back!!

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the St. Andrews Bay and had a wonderful, relaxing time.

When we arrived we were delighted to find that we had been upgraded to a Bay View room - and what a view it was!

We could not fault the hotel, it was spotlessly clean, the staff extremely friendly and attentive (without being intrusive) and the breakfasts were the best we have had in a hotel.

We will definitely be back!

Top Local Tips for St. Andrews

Cambo snowdrops Cambo is a few minutes drive away to the south. The Estate has the National Collection of snowdrops (in Feb/March), with almost 300 varieties. The glen down to the sea is carpeted in white, with pools of yellow Winter Aconite. Four pigs are used to get rid of the invasive ivy that smothers the bulbs - and their piglets are a joy. There are also study days throughout the year.

nahm jim if you like thai food the Nahm Jim is a fantastic place to eat but you do have to book

best local park for kids there is a fantastic park called craigtoun, which has a little ride-on train, mini golf, play areas, boats etc and the wee ones love it.
