Don't Even Consider Staying Here

Have just stayed in 4 hotels in Scotland. 2 were excellent, 1 was fine, but the Haven in Plockton has to be seen to be believed. We had a so-called family suite (lounge, 2 bedrooms plus shared bathroom). On being shown the room, there was a dog trapped inside it! The standard of decoration, carpet and furnishing in the room, charged at £175 per night, was like the seediest student accommodation of the early 1970s (except that even my seedy student digs were never this bad!). The TV did not work. There were no curtains on the windows. We had booked for four days but checked out after one, going to a lovely hotel in Portree instead. The staff of the hotel are incompetent to run an extablishment like this. Locals in Plockton told us that any B&B in the village would be better than this place. Disgusting and disgraceful!

They charge you 120GBP/ night for a double room (almost double the price they usually charge) but the service was terrible. When we need to make an important local phone call, the phone in the room doesn't work and they wouldn't allowed us to make a phone call from their hotel and asked us to make the phone call at the public phone across the street. We find it is very rude after we paid above the average price for the room.
