we stayed for a weekend and found the hotel clean tidy and well situated the staff were more than helpful although if you are on the first floor you can join in the conversation in the bar but the friendly atmosphere and great breakfast more than makes up for any shortfall i am planning on visiting oban again and i will be staying at the woodside hotel

I don't know what it was like before but I was delighted with the room, the service and the entertainment which was a superb bonus. This hotel is not 5* but doesn't pretend to be either. There is a family feel about the place. While chatting with the waitress at breakfast I learned it had recently changed hands and that the owners sister worked the bar and her mother cooked me breakfast and lunch. The beer garden was brilliant even though the weather wasn't. However there is a covered area too. All in all if you want a clean room friendly staff, locals and entertainment this is the place to go in Oban.

Good safe parking for motorbikes

Very cheap £28 IIRC the let me park my bike in their locked beer garden overnight... the hotel is above the pub and it stays open quite late.
The rooms were basic but very functional (TV on suite, coffee and tea making) and clean... staff were very friendly and helpful.
It is nothing flash but very good value for money when you see the prices elsewhere in Oban

The owners and staff. I came up to Oban to see the band FREEWAY. And I have got to say it was fabulous. For such a small hotel. It makes you so welcome and the staff do to. Just like say when I come back. That's where I will be going to stay as I love it. In addition, the staff are so nice and welcome.......I am cream Tenerife's resident DJ.....soon to be making a special guest appearance at the Woodside hotel in the near future. So look out for a date clubbers. DJ Johnny Rae. And thank you to all the staff at The Woodside Hotel Oban.

On behalf of my band Freeway, I would like to thank the owner Stevie and his wife and staff for the fabulous hospitality shown both to the band and also the large group of friends we had with us. This place could do with a good clean.
Don't eat the breakfast!! When you look around you will know why.

The rooms were a state very untidy, the hotel had a stale drink smell about it and the staff were extremely unhelpful
