Top Local Tips for Oban
Dolphins Take a sea-going fast boat (rib, preferably) from locally and go dolphin watching. Fantastic day out, great fun and got some fabulous pictures. It was Mike and Marion at the hotel who recommended it and it was very good value for money.
Ferries Great jumping off point to visit the islands
One of the best smaller town High Streets Oban is a bustling, charming and friendly destination for shopping. There is very little tartan-tacky (though plenty of "touristy" stuff) and it's very walkable, although we had no difficulty finding a car park or space either- just remember to "pay and display". After running up your credit card bill, stay enough under your limit to eat at EE-USK- great food right on the harbor.
