Recently upgraded, nice place to stay

My experience was so different from those noted previously I had to comment. The room was newly refurnished and really quite nice. New TV, fixtures, bath, seemed like a complete recent remodel. We were on the top floor, with short attic walls and a pitched roof that took up some space, but the beds were nice. Rained hard that night, none of the issues previously complained of. Staff was helpful and friendly, made several phone calls to help us out.

Phill Anne and the gang gave us a great time sorry to see them going next week. The Isle is a must for all to see stunning and breathtaking, hotel is an ideal base.
Should have heeded the warnings

Like the last reviewer, we went as part of a Caledonian coach tour. Food was good, but maid service in the room was sloppy. Complaints about discolored tap water and a request for a replacement light bulb went unheeded. During heavy rain the hotel leaked everywhere. Had to step over numerous rain-filled buckets in the corridors. We had been told by previous visitors what to expect, and we also found they had recently contravened UK government food hygiene regulations. I would not recommend it and I certainly won't be back.

Went as part of a Caledonian tour. Food hot and acceptable, bar prices okay. Room cold and smelt damp. Heating system feeble. Colour TV as old as the hills, did not hold any signal for more than three minutes. Towels not changed every day. Staff not that enthusiastic about their trade. Hotel fine if no other available and it is raining hard outside, otherwise no thanks.
