Kit out for the weather. The weather in Skye can change quickly so you should always have with a variety of clothing. Like much of Scotland late April and May are statistically perhaps more likely to produce sunny days, but a sunny day in summer brings the island to life. Your own transport is essential if you hope to see a lot in a short time. The main roads are of a high standard but there are several single-track roads that can be tiring in high season. Be aware of drivers who are used to driving on the opposite side of the road who can become confused when the single track roads become twin track.
