Very friendly and homey place, food was lovely and is very central, affordable prices, parking is a bit tricky though.

We have stayed at the MacDougall Clansman on and off since 1978. We have stayed in touch over the years at Christmas. Mr & Mrs MacDougall were wonderful to us then and when we returned in 1993 with our 3 small girls they were the same. The girls were even allowed to help take the cereal bowls to the table and were generally made much of! When we stayed the last time the hotel had undergone some refurbishment which has enhanced its appeal. If you are looking for a hotel in a lovely city such as Inverness and wish to be central to everything then this is the one for you. I cannot recommend them more highly. Now that the younger generation of the family have taken over the running of the hotel the service is still the same. I particularly like the lounge. It brings back memories of our first visit. We hope to continue to stay there when we return to Inverness from time to time.

The MacDougalls provide service with a smile, very reasonable rates, reliable information about local events, and best of all, excellent poached eggs on toast for breakfast. The downtown location is very convenient for transportation access, shopping,and touristing. If you loved Inverness before, you will even more after you stay here.
