Brilliant place, staff and excellent ownrs

What a brilliant place to stay. My husband and I had never been to Scotland and what a wonderful hotel to stay in. Paul and Sue the owners could not have been better hosts. The staff were excellent, food superb - could do with a few more choices perhaps. Room was very comfortable and very clean perhaps the bathroom could do with updating but otherwise 9 out of 10 for the room. We could not have wished for more, Sue and Paul were always good company and we had many enjoyable hours chatting to them together with the locals. I would certainly recommend this hotel but just hope that there will always be room for us.

This Hotel has the most fantastic setting, great rooms, great food and wonderful staff. We stayed for three days and the countryside and senery is something you can only dream about. Great position to discover Scotland. Combine all this with 150+ malts that they have in the bar and you have really landed on your feet or off them if you have to many. Well done to the management and their team for running such a class establishment. A truly Scottish experience.

Top Local Tips for Inverness

Loch Ness You have to take a trip to the Isle of Skye. Lots of beutiful places to visit in the area!

Great Glen Way We walked from Fort Augustus to Inverness over 3 days. The weather was fab. The views are superb but for some reason,all the books suggest you walk this route in this direction. Why?! We were certain that much, much better views were behind us! We had to keep turning round. Perhaps there is another reason for walking south to north, but we couldnt find one! We found we were always walking with the sun behind us (burnt shoulders!) and swear that there's far more uphill slogs going this way. If I were to do it again, I'd go from Inverness to Fort Augustus (or all the way thru to Fort William, of course). Great views of the Loch though. And if you dont have time to do the whole thing, find the route up above Drumnadrochit and head up to the top of the hills - what a beautiful view!
