Fantastic Loch Fyne Hotelfrom A TripAdvisor Member
Good, but priceyfrom Corran
The one disappointment were the prices in the restaurant. The food is good, but is, in my-view, £2-£3 per course over-priced. The wine list is also too expensive. I've bought a better year of the wine I had and I think the 'mark-up' on the wines is too great.
Stick to providing value for money. Don't get too greedy.

weekend breakfrom porty boy
the food in the dining room was superb and service promt and very polite. the dining room manager "barry"was most helpful.
now the down sides , lighting in the rooms was a bit dim, and the choice of lagers was not to my own taste.
over all we had good time , would certainly go back .

Great view! Very poor hotel.from Forlee
Well, we finally did -- but we'll never be back to this hotel. While it may be situated on the magnificent Loch Fyne, it's certainly not up to par in terms of quality. Reasons:
-- POOR ROOM VIEW AND LOCATION -- We've NEVER stayed in and around Inveraray and NOT had a view of the Loch or at least some scenic vista. At Loch Fyne hotel, we (and all others in the 3 story back wing) were treated to a view of ONLY the back parking lot. Our room, on the first floor, was 10 feet from the car park and, as the window did not have a sheer curtain, we were faced with the options of spending our time in a room where all natural light was blocked by a thick bulky drape OR offering a full view into our room from outside.
-- TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE -- We ordered a morning newspaper and on both mornings none was available for us at the desk. After the first morning with none designated, we asked for them to confirm the order for the next morning. But, again, no newspaper. However, on check-out we were presented with a bill with a charge for 2 newspapers. Brilliant! Also, after arriving at 2pm after an overnight overseas flight, we were informed that check-in wasn't until 3pm and that we could come back then to get our key but couldn't access the room til then. We checked; the room was ready for occupancy -- but, like at least 10 other waiting guests, we had to wait and line up at 3 to get our keys; we've NEVER encountered hotels behaving in this manner -- if / when the room's ready access is given. Finally, we arrived in our room and discovered two twin beds; we called to the front desk to indicate that we'd indicated a preference for a double bed. They phoned back to tell us that they'd checked the online reservation and no such request had been made. We were HOLDING in our hands a hard copy of our confirmation and could see the request as it was confirmed from their website -- but we were still told we hadn't requested this. VERY, VERY poor handling by front desk staff on all items.
-- Parking lot was noisy late at night with cars coming and going and an early morning visit by the garbage removal truck (garbage bin 15 feet from window) meant that sleep was not easy. This was compounded by bright hall lights that were kept on the first night (but not the second). Outside flood lights on the parking lot were lit til 1am.
--- Breakfast buffet had run out of many items and it was ages to refill. One egg, one sausage as indicated in previous notes.
We shall never, ever return here; we kept pining for the atmosphere and the wonderful food of the place on the other side of the lake (never again will we be unfaithful)!

Top Local Tips for Inveraray
Pub The george hotel was really good. We went there for lunch and at night. The food was good and it had a great atmosphere.
Inverary Jail I'd recommend a trip to the Inverary Jail and if you're staying at the Loch Fyne Hotel you get a discount on entry.
A Great Meal I would recommend a meal at the George Hotel in the high street.
