Stayed here for Hogmany 07 - staying at this house of horrors ruined my stay in Glasgow - bathrooms were dirty , baths did not work and would not be fixed by reception , no drinking water in v hot rooms ,corridors like something out of The Shining and te whole place is tired and tatty - do not stay here if you can help it its dreadful - nothing about the place is worth praising

This place is showing it's age, but that is no excuse for bad service. No info on checking out times and breakfast times. Three sheets [ not three rolls ] of toilet paper and the last sheet folded into a triangle [ hah hah.] No drinking water in the room from the tap, but no bottle of water either?? Being shown to a table that someone else was already using in the restaurant was a bit of a hoot actually. The guantlet of staff smokers at the entrance was less funny. Would have complained had it not been Hogmanay night and this was only a central location to lay my head down, but I won't be back.

I stayed 3 nights for free, using Choice Hotels reward-- but it was barely worth that. If you arrive by train (or fly into Prestwick and take train) it is perfect, plus it is also 100ft from City Link bus stop from Glasgow Intl Airport. Beware: if you have an inside room- you will hear (loudly) the train station PA system announcing trains from 630am to 10pm-- and any young drunks on Sat pm. This hotel is the outside wall of the Glasgow Central Train Station. Inside rooms have windows that overlook the "atrium" of the train station. BEWARE NO AC & no ventilation-- and many rooms the windows are painted shut. Internet access is L1 for 9mins (go down Gordon St 2 blocks to Nero Cafe, has an Interent Cafe adjoining) . The hotel staff acted like they did not care and it was an effort to serve you. ASK FOR 4TH OR 5TH FLOOR OUTSIDE ROOM- ON HOPE ST, for quiet. Avoid the food at the hotel.

If you can get for a cheap price and you can get a quiet room with windows that open-- you will find this hotel convenient to everything in downtown Glasgow, short walk to Tourist Info office and where day tour bus depart. 45 min train ride to Edinburgh.

We have been going to the Glasgow Central Hotel for 12 years now, we go in November for a Christmas shopping trip, we are a group of around 150 and it is the highlight of our year. Staff are wonderful from the booking staff Sharon and the gang they are excellent (really put themselves out) to Isobel and the gang at the restaurant, always willing to help they all work so hard. All staff are really helpful. For groups looking to chill out for the week - end Quality Hotel Glasgow is the place.

The hotel is very central. The room we got was situated on last floor and in the end of the hall. The room was in a quiet loacation. The room was ok. Plenty of space. The bath was not the best I have seen. The bed was hard for my back. We stayed just for one night. The location is perfect for exploring Glasgow city. The staff was friendly.

Save money My friend and I got the city link bus from the airport to glasgow city centre. This cost us £3.50 each way which was cheap as the taxi would have cost us £20.00 approximately each way.
