Great stay as always.

from chicolatino
We stayed at the express in December for 1 night while we did some christmas shopping in Glasgow.
We chose to stay here instead of in the city because its good value for money ,easy to get to and has plenty secure parking.
The staff were brilliant and very helpful and cheerful. We asked to change from a twin room to a double room and this was no problem for them.
The rooms are fairly large for a hotel of this type but then there was only two of us.It had a double bed and a sofa bed and was clean, modern and cosy. The shower was great and really washed away a days shopping!!
We ate over at the airport just for a change but the breakfast which was included in the price was good. Plenty of choice and brilliant croissants!!
Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and have stayed at a lot more upmarket places and not had nearly such a good service.
Will definately be back.

So So Easy

Saturday 9 Sept. 2006.

Once again we stayed at the Airport HIE and enjoyed a warm welcome, friendly converstation with the staff and satisfying meal (with a couple of drinks) at a reasonable price. We had a 6am. flight so breakfast from 4am. onwards was ideal.
As part of the deal our car was parked for 10 nights off site and was waiting for us on our return in the hotel car park. Cannot think of a better way to start a holiday - well done the staff on duty during our stay.

Budget!! Good and Bad!!

from Bretschick
We were staying here overnight as we flew to Glasgow to fly on to Orlando. We arrived at the hotel to find a very busy reception, wait wasn't too bad though. We were given the key to our room and arrived at our room to find we had two single beds. We booked a double room. I went to reception to explain the mistake and was told that you can 'request' a double room but they can't guarantee it. Disappointed but consoling myself with the fact that it was only one night i returned to the room. I then realised we only had one small pillow each. I returned to reception to request additional pillows to be told the hotel was booked out and they had no additional pillows.
I realise this is a budget hotel but felt standards could be better.
Rooms overall were clean and the complimentary breakfast was nice.
Would i stay again? Only if no where else was available.

handy, but thats it!

We booked this hotel because of the park & stay deal (£99) as we had a late flight on the return from our holiday abroad.

There were no problems leaving the car. The keys were taken & we were given a receipt. The reception knew on booking & arrival we were a party of 5 (2 adults, 2 kids & 1 infant).

Our flight was delayed on the way home, so we finally arrived at the hotel about 3am, tired & weary with grumpy kids looking for a sleep before the long drive home.

On entering the room however, we discovered only a double bed. My husband went to reception to see if we had been given the wrong room, only to return with a travel cot & and anarmful of linen.

After we made up the travel cot, we had to struggle with the sprung sofa bed & make that up as best we could for the 2 older kids.

I know this is a budget hotel, but I would at least expect the beds to be made up for us.

The room was way too hot. We had the window open as full as possible, so were disturbed by lorries unloading for the rest of the morning right below us.

Things didn't really get any better at breakfast. There are only 2 highchairs in the hotel & since these were already taken, our infant had to do without.

I was intending on complaining to the manager on check out, but he was being extremely confrontational to the customer in front of me, who was obviously complaining about his bill, so I didn't bother.

We didn't find the staff at all friendly.
Dont stay here unless you're desperate!

Surprisingly good - great location!

from phiggmart
Picked this just for it proximity to the Glasgow airport since we had an early flight. Close is right! It is basically across the street from the airport and the return area for car rental. Rooms are small - but clean and nice. It actually feels a bit like a train or cruise ship room. There is a restaurant and full bar - and dinner was actually really great! All of the staff was very helpful and friendly - in spite of the fact that they were really busy. We had no trouble leaving our rental car - place to take keys is inside the terminal. And, in fact we made a couple of quick trips into the airport. It was so nice to actually be able to get to a terminal without having to catch some type of shuttle. The only drawback was that we were in UK during a heatwave - so to get any air you had to have your windows wide open. So, you could hear traffic etc. outside. But that can't really be helped in a place that doesn't have air conditioning. So, a complete recommendation if you are looking for a clean, simple accomodation that puts you at the airport. We were actually catching two different flights - one at 9 and one at 11. So, we walked over with our daughter first - and then walked back to our hotel and got ourselves ready for the second flight. Book this hotel!

Great location

This was our third stay at the Express Holiday Inn and found it great value for money - if you book months in advance you get a good deal through Holiday Extras. Room good with tea/coffee facilities. Buffet breakfast and free newspaper in the morning. 15 days parking included in our price of £73.50. Staff very cheery and efficient. Stayed at other hotels near the airport and this is by far our favourite.

Pretty Handy, Pretty Good!

from Mousireid
WE stayed here arriving and departing due to time contraints and ease with young children.
Our room was clean and had decent space, instant tea, coffeee and a kettle were available. There was a double bed, one single bed and a sofa that could be used as a double. They don't usually allow baggage carts up to the rooms but we managed to take them seeing as the baby and our four year old (along with the three large cases and a stroller) seemed almost unmanageable! How nice!
Breakfast consists of cereals, toast, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, coffee, tea, juice and accompaniments.
Location is VERY handy as the walk is next to nothing under mostly covered walkway.
Shower only in rooms but the kids managed without their evening bath for once!
I always use this facility when necessary its simply way too convenient and there's always food available until late and a bar if you fancy.
If you have transport Braehead shopping mall is 15 mins. Glasgow central could be reached via taxi or bus? Certainly an 'AIRPORT" easy hotel.

Ideal place to stay before your flight

from owlAnon
Glad we picked this hotel to overnight in before our flight. Location is so close to the airport (2 minute walk away) and trolleys are provided outside the entrance. The room was small but nicely decorated, modern, and spotlessly clean. Only slight disadvantage was some road noise, even with the double glazing. I used earplugs, but would ask for a room on the opposite side of the hotel next time. The free continental buffet breakfast was an added bonus. Would recommend to anyone for the price and the location. Ideal for families.

Extremely noisy!

This hotel was a big disappointment after reading the previous reviews. Stayed there at the beginning and the end my vacation-once on the M8 side and once on the airport side. If the reservation had been cancelable I would never have gone back. Yes, it is very convenient to the airport and reasonably priced. The staff is nice and the breakfast is well done. It is ok for the night before a flight when you have to get up early anyway...just don't go there looking for a peaceful stay. This hotel is SOOOOO noisy. Sandwiched between the M8 and the airport, the noise level from outside is very high. The airport side is actually a little better since the airport quiets down in the wee hours. Not so for the M8. Then there is the noise from within. You will hear every door slam, every footstep by your upstairs neighbors and every tv in the area. The rooms near the elevators are even worse. Since many of the guests are catching early morning flights, the activity in the rooms and hallways between 03:30-06:30 is astonishing. If the heaters in the room had a fan like in most US hotels, at least you could block the noise a bit. But alas they do not. The hotel has a squeezie bottle of shower gel in the bath instead of individual soaps. A nice idea, but for both stays the bottle was empty. Both rooms also had light bulbs out too. Forgivable for a bedside light that might not get turned on when the room gets cleaned, hard to miss for the light over the sink in the bathroom. Bring your own soap and earplugs!!

great value for money

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Great value for money. Room was spotless and quiet. Paid to leave our car here whilst on our trip-hassle free. Would definitely recommend a stay here before/after a flight.
