Miss this one out Steer clear of The Clifton Hotel. The location is great, but that's the only good thing about this place.
Lucky with June weather June is the month of clement weather just before tourism booms. We were lucky that it almost never rained in all our 14 days in Scotland. I suggest wearing layers of clothing since it is a constant peeling off and putting back on of layers as the sun goes in and out. There were very few occasions for concerts or events scheduled for June which is a drawback, but the friendliness and kindness of the people is overwhelming and perhaps making contact is easier when there are fewer tourist events such as concerts which bring crowds and might mean that people have less time to devote to encounters.
cultural events Visit The Kelvingrove Museum and see The Burrell Collection. Take the city bus tour which allows you to hop on and off at many interesting sites,
