Great Service, Friendly Staff
Working in Fort William, this hotel became my home for three months, it has the best staff, compliments particularly go to Sophie, Bruce and Gary. Unfortunately my shift often excluded me from breakfast, however the hotel provided a packed lunch, as they do for everyone who asks for it, this was all sorted out by Sophie who ensured it was ordered every day.
As for the midges, yes midges not mosquitoes, well unfortunately the hotel does sit by the Loch, and it is Scotland and it is Fort William. Midges are part of Fort William, if the people use a midge repellant it wouldn't of been a problem. The kitchen from what I saw was spotless, service was brillient in the staff room. Would I stay there again, definitely.

Could not fault this hotel!
On our arrival, the friendly receptionist Sophie arranged a favourable deal for us which we now consider excellent value. We concur with the review of the hotel as described by Pat (1-12-06). My well-travelled Daughter and Son-in-Law (veterans of many hotels) agree with me that this hotel was a pleasure to stay in. The rooms were clean, neat, all the usual facilities were present, the breakfast was excellent (pity you missed it Laura), the view inspiring, and the staff excellent. We would definitely try to stay at the Croit Anna next time we are in Fort William.

Brilliant holiday
after reading the other comments I was dreading staying at the hotel, so I was really surprised when, the staff were fantastic, the room and the rest of the hotel was very clean and the food very good as well, we went for a tinsel and turkey holiday and I don’t know how they did it for the price, great entertainment as well and a day excursion. Although the weather was a bit blustery when we were there, it would be nice in warmer weather to sit outside looking over the loch. I would definitely return.

Terrible hotel
My husband and I stayed one night in this hotel. I can confidently say it's the worse hotel I have ever stayed in. Our room was crawling with insects and was very dirty - the carpet was filty and practically every corner of the room was laced in spider webs. The toilet wouldn't flush, and the mirror on the bathroom door had apparently broken and had never been replaced. The hotel staff, while polite, was unconcerned. We spent half an hour trying to kill the literally many tens of mosquitos. We left without having breakfast in the morning (breakfast was included in the price): if the sanitary conditions in the kitchen were comparable to those in the room, we thought it would be a good idea not to touch any food. We would have had a better night sleep had we slept in the car.
BTW: according to their own sign, this is rated as a 2 star hotel, not a three star.
