First impressions were ok, but was a little uneasy when the girl on reception wanted to take our debit card AWAY from us to swipe incase we used the phone. We were obviously upset and couldn't believe that in this day and age of data theft that some one would still ask to do this.

Top Local Tips for Edinburgh

Getting to the Ben Doran If you are arriving to Edinburgh by train, don't ask anyone at the information desks how to get to the hotel!!! Ask someone at the bus depot, they are knowledgable, and as long as you have the address of where you are staying, they can give you the numbers of buses you can take that go right past it! The bus depot is just south of the train station and Princes Street, on the corner.

Rosslyn Chapel Take the bus to Rosslyn Chapel, not the tour

Touch and go Weather in Edinburgh is extremely changeable. It could be pouring rain one minute and sunny & hot the next. That happened to us! Take an umbrella always.
