We stayed at the links hotel as a hen weekend, we had a party of nine and a fantastic stay. I had read some reviews on this hotel before we went and really wasn't sure what to expect, but it was obvious once we got there it was going to be great. The management were very welcoming and accommodating, our rooms were brilliant, clean spacious and fresh towels every morning. Breakfast was great (especially if you had a hangover lol), the staff were very quick and helpful, the food and drink were spot on and at great prices, so it was nice to go back to the hotel for dinner and drinks after a long day or to finish the evening after a long nite. the staff were good fun and made us feel at home (the bar and hotel staff are all one),nothing was to much trouble. the staff rang taxis when we needed them and we never had to wait long. I highly recommend this hotel to all stags, hens, young couples and groups as this hotel is situated in a young area and is used as a sports bar by the locals. There are no lifts so be prepared to use the stairs although this really is no big deal.

We arrived on Friday pm, booked in room 210 great sized family room for two of us , Although the one radiator was on full blast, it barly heated the room. The wind whistled through the single glazed windows not helping.
As stated in the brouchure,our room was directly above the bar and the noise went on till one am
(no problem as was forwarned).
The breakfast served in the bar was of good quality and the service was of a high standard.
The down sides, cream for coffee in the room was off, the remote for the tv did not work, and as mentioned earlier the heating in the room was barly adequate.
All in all, the deal we arranged was very good value and we would stay agian.

Top Local Tips for Edinburgh

Museum of Scotland An oasis of calm on most days, this is free and you can drop your bags off in free lockers too. As well as some great things to see, you can lounge in a cafe and have lunch too. When you're tired to death of the Royal Mile, soak up some culture here!

Parking If you can stay outside the center if you have a car as parking cost £1-1.60 per hour! Use the bus its cheaper. Traffic wardens are everywhere so you cannot avoid paying to park.
