Went to the Argyll for murder mystery weekend. The rooms we stayed in were of a very high standard (although a little small)The rooms were called the clan rooms and me and my sister were booked into rm 112. I could not complain about anything during our stay apart from on the day of checking out we were given the room bill and had been charged for a bottle of wine that none of us had. The manager said he would take our word and not charge us for the wine (very big of him ) We checked out of the hotel on Sunday morning and on the Wednesday got a letter by post saying that they had taken £55.00 from my credit card (used to pay the deposit) for damages to the wall light in the bedroom. I called the hotel to say that no way had the light been damaged by us during our stay and was told by the hotel manager that he would get a lawyer involved if I stopped the credit card payment. The man had a very nasty agressive tone in his voice. I asked if there was anyway the light has been damaged by one of his cleaners after we had left and the man went mad shouting that I had to pay this £55.00 and again was threatened with a lawer. I would before this happened have recommended this hotel to anyone, but not now. I think this is a dreadful way to treat anyone and what ever happened to the phrase "the customer is always right.".

My friend and I returned to Dunoon for a nostalgic holiday. We left for Canada 50 years prior and decided to come back on the anniversary for a visit. We booked into the Argyll Hotel and found it very clean and the meals were out of this world. The staff were all wonderful to us and very helpful. This really contributed to our trip. I would definitely return and would recommend it to anyone visiting Dunoon.

It was the wonderful time of my life the first I got my love to be my life partner & second Argyll Hotel made it best by providing the best professional hospitality services I came across through in my whole life. It was really a great experience as everyone in my guest list left happily and without a single complaint. Staff was really helpful and my most of the credit goes to chef's for there culinary skills. In all Argyll Hotel will be remain my first choice always and I will recommend it to everyone.

Top Local Tips for Dunoon

Transport If you come across to Dunoon on the CalMac ferry be aware that the car park next to the terminal has some free parking, however the free and hourly parking are not clearly defined! Just make sure you look to see which section you park in!
