The rooms were last decorated in the 80's and unfortunately wallpaper paste doesn't remain sticky for 20 years. The staff seem like they're just going through the motions. It's a dreary place. The pool and gym are the only saving graces. Definately not good value for money. I have not got time to go into the food, but as you can imagine it's as bad as the rest of the place.

I have had 2 breaks at 'The Swallow. Dundee' early this year - each trip Monday to Friday. I just use this a base to visit friends - I was not impressed with the cleanliness of my room (133) The bedside tables - which had cloths hanging down - I looked under and found bits of food and a mountain of 'fluff' etc; which I left. a few weeks later when I returned I had the same room ! and guess what - I had a peep and nothing had been cleaned - the same mess was there. Also The soap dish on the wall was hanging off and a few other nigley things . . . I was also not ammused when talking to other guests that they had paid half of what I had paid for a 4 day break and they also got evening dinner into the bargain . . . !! As for the Jacuzzi - which I love - it needed attention as lots of the little tiles were chipped and broken and this resulted in me getting up out of the water and it ripped my brand new costume - only purchased 2 days before, however, they did allow me to have free food to the value of ( I did have the receipt for the costume ) Resturant staff were very good and catered for your every need. All in all - yes I will go back because it is very handy for me. Hope to gat a better deal . . . and hope the rooms are cleaned better.
