Real character & superb food

Room ( well, suite, really)like staying in an old mansion flat belonging to an elderly great-aunt. Very roomy and comfortably furnished; but shiny with mod.cons it certinly isn't. Very atmospheric, lovely grounds. Food was superb (£50 per head for 4-course meal & worth every penny)
Not for nit-pickers & teenagers would probably be bored out of their skulls.
Loved it & would go back any time.

Rude staff member put a damper on our stay

We found this hotel to be beautifully situated on a well-manicured estate. The building itself was in need of a bit of a makeover, but with roomy and well-appointed accomodations. We found one of the evening staff to be very rude and condescending toward vistors from the U.S.

I got married at Cromlix this summer. We stayed there for the weekend and it was wonderful. We had all our relatives stay there for the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding and the service was first rate. The new manager Benito was fantastic and made sure everything ran smoothly. He arranged the cake I wanted and the entertainment - nothing was too much trouble. He he the best thing to happen to Cromlix - an exceptional country house now has an exceptional manager - the staff are also superb and helped calm my nerves on the day of the wedding. The food was sensational, the accomdation and grounds stunning and the atmosphere extremely relaxing and welcoming. Every detail was considered and a great time was had by all. My husband and I could not have chosen a better location to get married. We will definately be returning - we got what we had paid for a perfect place for a perfect day. Thank you to all at Cromlix!!!!!
