Dreadful Service - hydro gone downhill

just back from crieff hydro cullcrief cottages 4-5 star self catering accomodation. noisy radiators kept all of us awake at night. sounded like a tap running all night. complaint to reception, who agreed it was unacceptable, resulted in nothing being done. then spoke to duty manager who sent out a handy man who did something to the system that caused pressure to drop, so no hot water. 3 sleepless nights and 2 days of cold showers did not go down well, especially with my 78 year old father, so we booked out early. compensation - 1 round of free drinks. not good enough crieff hydro - our family have holidayed there for 25 years, but no more.
Crieff Hydro has it all!

Crieff Hydro is a fabulous place for a relaxing break. This is a very large hotel with the ambience of a smaller hotel. Staff are very friendly and courteous.
Wide range of different accommodation types in both traditional or contemporary decor. This hotel has the mix of old with new done in a very tasteful manner. Food in the Meikle resaturant was excellent with lovely attention to detail. Breakfast, served buffet style, offers every conceivable choice. They serve wonderful coffee!
It is worth paying the few quid extra for use of the Victorian Spa where you could relax all day if you wanted to. Activities offered by the hotel are too numerous to mention them all. There is something for everyone and the children are well catered for. Mums and Dads will even get a break with the great childcare on offer.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone just wanting to get away from it all as we did. I suspect that now we have found the 'jewel' that is Crieff Hydro that we will become regular guests. Just booked to go back and am counting the weeks.
