i travelled to castle douglas with my family in may. we didnt book accommodation hoping to find somwhere in town. we tried a few places but didnt see the return in the money they were asking for. we got to the market inn hotel and were very impressed with the place. the place is lovely. we were charged £90 for a family of four all in the one room which was great, and had a very big bathroom! outwith the room we tasted amazing food and were treated like royalty, the family who own the bit are great with kids, helping out all the time. wee bit noisy at night with a disco on the saturday, but the family did warn us and it wasnt too bad, just wish we could have joined in!! all in all, great place, great prices and great people, food truely amazin!

Stayed at the market with my husband-will definately be back-service was great,rooms were amazing and entertainment 2nd to none!!!choice of 3 lively bars each with a different atmosphere!!!no problem is too small!girls were all great-a home from home stay-see you all soon susan x

Having stayed at the Market Inn on business I was very impressed by the recent refurbishment. It has been well thought out and tastefully decorated. The staff went out of their way to help and always smiling which is rare these days. I can recommend a visit, be it business or pleasure.

We attended a scottish music weekend at the hotel. The entertainment was excellent along with the service we received during our stay. The food was spot on, I never managed a desert due to the portions of my starters and main courses being, very generous to say the least.
