We, my husbond, 2 children (4 & 7) and I stayed at the Seafield Hotel in Campbeltown for 5 days. During our stay, we got to know the Archers, who own the hotel, very well. We had the best service, a lovely room and very good food. I would very much like to recommend this hotel for families. The location is absolutly breathtaking, the locals are very friendly and the Archers provieded all we needed for a perfect family holiday.

I had dificulty finding a hotel for the business user in Campbeltown. External appearance is good, entrance is restaurant, bar and reception (not ideal). Which is clean and tidy but is a bit bare and dark, possibly to save money and power. The owners are very helpful polite and accommodating. There apears to be no rooms in the main building, which would give a sea view. Around the back is where the accommodation is, via the side of the building past the kitchen. This put me off eating there the first night, yet the breakfast was excellent, so a meal the second night was had and enjoyed. (if you see every kitchen rear where you eat you would never go out to eat). The room was well designed with all you need for an overnight stay (not a holiday). Wi-Fi would be good, don't think this was available. I would use the hotel again for business.

Great place

Previous reviews are misleading as there are now new owners with a different approach - the view from the front bedroom was wonderful - the food to die for - our hosts, Doug and Saskia, are establishing a cosy, family-run retreat for the weary traveller - give it a try!

Enjoyable stay but...

It was an enjoyable stay but i must say i was dissapointed as there are no rooms available with a sea view at all which was a shame. The food was nice but wouldn't recommend the accommodation i'm afraid!

Small and cramped rooms

The rooms were small and cramped. Not worth the money. The staff weren't that friendly and there are no rooms with a sea view-just box rooms out the back of the hotel!
