Within a few hours the name Trevor Eve kept coming into my mind & I didn't know why. The staff were very good & helpful but the hotel needs refurbishment badly. Hot water for showers/sinks etc was lottery like, sometimes you got it sometimes you didn't. But the worst thing for me was the nitty picky way they dealt with food. Ask for more butter & you get 1 little plastic tub. If you want to change from the trad english b/fast say scramble egg only, you cant get anymore egg to replace the lost sausage bacon. Water is supplied by a jug on the table, however if you are only two people on the table the jug comes half empty - how much does this save them? The food is good but they sometimes try to serve it as though it's nouvelle cuisine - it's not - but they reduce the amount by pretending it is. The Trevor Eve bit reminds of the TV show shoestring which I felt this hotel was run on.
