Top Local Tips for Arisaig
Nice places to eat in Arisaig The Rhu Cafe on the main strip across from the pier is fantastic- good range of veggie and non-veggie food, lunch-style, friendly service, everything freshle prepared and cooked, great ingredianets and imaginative, best chocolate cake I've had in a while, nice herb teas and wines and things. Also, the Old Library Lodge in the same strip does more up-market dinners, really top, friendly, non-intrusive service, we had the vegetarian option (there is generally only one) and it was really superb. The other options looked nice on fellow diners' plates! Cnoc-na-Faire is a short way away, it's a nice hotel with cool decor and design, and incredible views. We didn't stay but ate there one lunchtime and the food was excellent again, nice warm service, in a lovely cozy bar. Also stopped in for a hot drink after a long cold walk- it was less good quality (UHT milk in sachets rather than fresh, hot chocolate out of a sachet) but still welcome and served with a smile.
Cafe Rhu was a great find If you do find yourself in Arisaig - and it's a beautiful place to be - have lunch at the Cafe Rhu: good food well priced in a lovely atmosphere.
Old Library Inn As an alternative to the food served in the bar at the Arisaig Hotel the Old library was great! It was a of a higher standard than the Pub Grub available in the hotel and the same price! Its only a minutes walk from the hotel and was a lovely surprise as we'd never eaten there before.
