Attended a wedding reception here. Half the guests were still queueing for a drink when the toasts were done while staff stood around doing nothing. The disco was the most dire I've ever experienced. Glad I didn't have to stay there.

Top Local Tips for Aberdeen
apparently best fish and chips in Scotland http://www.theashvale.co.uk/locations/abertakres.htm This nearby restaurant is really excellent. We went there at 10pm on the Friday night and it was very quiet - we had really excellent cod and chips. I went for a really enjoyable run one morning round a park south of the hotel and past the River Dee - the reception staff gave us advice and maps.
Aberdeen is beautiful! We liked very much the architecture - although this might be an acquired taste. And the people in Aberdeen are wonderfully friendly and helpful. We lucked out with extraordinarily warm and sunny weather in April.
