Top Local Tips for Belfast

Be sure you remember to look RIGHT-LEFT-RIGHT when driving! The rental car system is not bad from Dublin, Ireland---but it takes a little extra caution to drive on the opposite side of the road. I found that it was not bad at all, but the one exception was the couple of times I would go to pull out of a driveway, I almost pulled out in the path of oncoming traffic from the right. Just keep this in mind and you should have a safe journey.

What the locals enjoy! A great local pub with colour and lots of life is the Errigal Inn on the Ormeau Road about 3 miles south of the city centre. Say £5 by taxi.It has a number of different bars and often live music. Opening hours until 1am most every night. Food is served most of the time and is way above what you would usually expect quality-wise in Pub-grub .There are 4 or 5 restaurants and three other bars within 5 minutes walk. The Errigal is very busy with the locals, so if you want to know what a real Northern Irish bar is like, and not the plastic facsimiles give it a try.Everyone knows where it is.
