Historical Traveller Reviews of Hilton Belfast Hotel
Excellent
from A TripAdvisor MemberMy wife and I spent a short break in Belfast a couple of weeks ago, and booked 3 nights at the Hilton. Upon arrival (we were early- about 12pm), we were told our executive room we had booked was not ready, so they upgraded us to junior studio!
New room was on corner of building, with floor to ceiling windows on two sides. All seemed brand new, including bathroom with power shower and massive bath tub.
Leisure facilities were a nice bonus, as was the excellent breakfast buffet and bar. Staff were all very helpful and rooms were kept immaculate.
Situated by the river in developing area of the city, well positioned between shops and other attractions. No complaints!
Great location - above average Hilton
from ZarekService pretty good. We did have a problem with our non-smoking booking not being allocated when we arrived, but this resulted in us being upgraded to an executive (smoking) room which in fact was fine.
Bar area aimed to be funky but for me was a bit impersonal. Plenty of options for drinking in the locality however.
Overall I would recommend a stay here particularly if you can get a deal that makes it even better value
Rubbish
from Guy10Unfortunately we ate there. My friend had a plastic seperator still attached to her cooked burger, and mine was so overcooked it was inedible. Others had some crispy beef thing which seemed much better.
We got rid of the plastic burger which was replaced by something else at no charge and when it came to settle the check "was everything alright" - "no the other burger was overcooked to the point of being inedible" - "did you say anything to the waiter" - "yes but he just laughed" saw that charge go away as well with very little, if any, apology...
I also hate hotels that push the prices up when there's a conference on (which you're not attending) The room price was £160 for one wednesday night. Breakfast an additional £12.
Overpriced Rubbish. Not up to Hilton standards at all.
Faultless
from MalachyByrneGreat facilities, friendly & helpful staff.
One of the best hotels I've stayed in anywhere in the world and I've been in a few!
Good Hotel, but beware....
from A TripAdvisor MemberOn the plus side, Staff were helpful, and the doormen make excellent tour guides. Food was excellent quality and room service was extremely quick. Location is good for shopping or if you are attending an event at the Odyssey or Waterfront (just next door!). Car parking is expensive but very handy as there is access from the car park directly into reception and your car is safe.

Top Local Tips for Belfast
Arriving by train to central station If you arrive by train from Dublin you can hop on a Metro bus outside the station (turn left when exited main entrance) - show your rail ticket and you get a free trip to centre city (only 5 minutes away by bus). This will drop you off right by City Hall/Donegall Square.
weather found weather in july very wet, better in september if lucky enough to get good weather go to visit Stormont House the grounds are spectacular
Use Taxis to get around Belfast The city of Belfast is very small indeed. I do not think you would ever require a bus, besides, you would have to wait 15-30 min for one anyways. Walking is the best option, and if you don't have time, a taxi will always cost less than a fiver. We took a hotel to the city airport from the Hilton for only £5.80, not bad as the bus would of cost us £5.25 for my wife and I.
