Very nice staff, service excellent but was also alarmed by opening of drawers and windows in the middle of the night while staying in Room 1! Would be an excellent base for any ghost hunters out there!!

We stayed recently as part of a family reunion - lovely time. Great food in the bistro - good portions and not too dear. Kids eat free promotion helped also. Good spacious clean rooms and the staff are the friendlist I've met!

Took my mum for 1 nights stay to see her idol Hugo as a surprize xmas present,we had a great time, food and accommodation were brilliant. My mum was like a teenager on the dance floor as this was her first time to meet Hugo, she is 74. I will be taking her again in the near future.

Relaxing break - No chance

My husband and I stayed for two nights. The room was shabby with torn bed linen, the en-suite was dated with a temperamental shower and black mould around the bath taps. The first night was quiet but we more than made up for that on the second night, there was a wedding party and they certainly knew how to party, they shouted, banged doors and vomited until 4.30 am both outside the entrance(just below our bedroom)and on the main corridor (just outside our bedroom). At 3.20 am, I telephoned reception to complain but needless to say, no-one answered. If this is ''One of County Down's finest hotels'' I would hate to think what the rest of them are like...

Ghosts at the millbrook lodge?

Not a believer of things that go bump in the night? Then spend a night in the Millbrook lodge. I had a great stay at the lodge only because it reminded me so much of faulty towers. Once night fell a member of staff, basil we called him let us in on the hotel's hidden history (after we interrogated him on noises we had heard the previous night). Room 1 is apparently the most haunted of all. I’m surprised nobody has mentioned this previously. It’s the shining/ faulty towers.

Smelly, dirty, shabby

I stayed for one night in the Millbrook Hotel .....Thank god it was only one! The hotel resembled the smell of mothballs, and the dirt of the bottom of a wheelie bin. I stayed in the Millbrook early Dec. I was attending a Christmas party and I must say the food wasn’t too bad although why hot plates were set out 15mins before dinner is served beats me. So obviously the plates were cold by the time the food was served! When it was finally bedtime, I climbed into bed only to find it was broken along with the tap in the dull mustard coloured ensuite. There was no one to offer me another room at reception and I had to wait till next morning to complain. No discount was given by the cheeky receptionist who promised a phone call from her duty manager when she came on duty..............you've guessed it, I'm still waiting on the phone call! A word of warning.........steer clear!
