Stayed 1 night at the Hotel for our Wedding anniversary. We had an evening meal in Gillies Bar, but would have liked to have eaten in the River Room, unfortunately it was closed being a Tuesday night. We booked a Superior suite. First impressions of the room was good, very spacious. Nice decor. French doors which we could open, so there was plenty of air getting in as the rooms where very warm! Bathroom was very modern with a proper shower & not the dreaded shower curtain & shower over the bath! The room had a mini Bar, tea & coffee facilities. Which we didn't use. We were disapointed that there was no still water available! There was the usual hair dryer, ironing board and Iron facilities in the room and a very large wide screen television. There was a good choice of glossy magazines to read and two comfortable leather arm chairs and table. There was also bath robes supplied. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of pillows supplied. On arrival at Reception to check in there was one member of staff who was very plesant and efficient. She got us checked in quite quickly and she give us directions to our room. After about 5 minutes of entering the room we had a knock to the door and a guy offering to pull back the bed linen but we declined the offer! We thought this was a nice touch though! Our meal in Gillies Bar was very good, the staff again were friendly and efficient. Only thing that let the meal down was the desserts. I ordered Ice-cream with my dessert but got Fresh Cream. Desserts didn't seem home made more like bought in but we could be wrong! The following morning we were waiting on a wake up call but didn't get one! We had breakfast in Gillies Bar again. Self services breakfast, with an excellent variety of cereals, juices, breads, fresh fruit & fried food. We really enjoyed the breakfast and can honestly say it was probably one of the nicest breakfasts we have had in a hotel. Presentations was beautiful. After breakfast we checked out and headed to the Spa for out treatments. Staff at Reception were very friendly and made us feel at ease. We filled in some forms and were given a pair of slippers to wear and shown to the changing rooms to put on our robes. We were then taken to the Paris suite which had two baths, Champagne and strawberries waiting for us. It was pure decadence & very relaxing. We throughly injoined this part of the Spa. We then had two massage therapists come into the room for our consultation and are treatments. I had a back massage, facial and Pedicure. The treatments last for about two hours and where very enjoyable. We were shown into the relaxation rooms and given head phones to listen to some music. We also had Ice Lemon Water and dried Banana's to nibble on. We then headed through to the hydrotherapy Pool. We used the steam rooms, Sauna, out door hot tub & relaxed on the thermal heated stone loungers. We left the spa feeling stress free and very relaxed. We totally enjoyed our experience at Galgorm and would like to return again in the future. Regarding the price, it was probably the most expensive nights stay we have ever had. The bed & breakfast, evening meal and spa treamnts cost £580 for 1 night. It was all worth it. We would highly recommend a stay at Galgorm Manor.
