Hernia days at the stromness hotel

We arrived with great expectations at the stromness hotel, but unfortunately the 3 stars were given by someone who didn't understand the rating system completely. The renovation didn't stop the windows from almost falling out and we are still suffering from pains caused by the horrible beds. One plus: we were allowed to smoke in a non smoking room.

Restaurant recc The Hamnavoe restaurant in Stromness is very good, and not really more expensive than the hotel, but book in advance
Stromness Hotels Do not stay at Stromness Hotel! Absulutely terrible. Look around and book in advance.
Economical Car rental is appallingly expensive but a day pass on the bus allowed us to see all that our time permitted.
