The Royal Esplanade Hotel was one of the best holidays I have ever experienced. The staff were fantastic especially the French manager, not only was he very proffesional in his job, he was also able to have fun and make the guests, including myself, feel very special. Altogether a great new year break full of good spirit and joy, which you dont get from other top hotels. Well worth the money!!

We stayed in this hotel through a shearings holiday and it was lovely. We paid £10 extra to ensure a sea view room and it was well worth it. Clean, tidy, good food, good service. A perfectly acceptable hotel for the budget price of the holiday.

The Royal Esplanade Hotel was very nice. My room was in need of a make over but perfectly acceptable, clean and comfortable. The dining arrangements were good, meal times were flexible and the meals were some of the best I've ever had on similar holidays (and as a vegetarian I often get lumped with unvaried, boring menus) The staff were all friendly particularly the waiters/kitchen staff. The hotel was fully booked which surely is a sign of it's popularity.

We stayed here September 2006 with Shearing travel company, never again. The room we had was filthy and had no view, I mean no view we had a brick wall covering 3/4 of the window the window was falling apart and couldn't be shut because to was so rotten it had been fixed into place, how they get away with it health and safety wise I don't know, the had a musty smell to it. We finally had another room and this room was just as bad but with a no brick wall in the window. The service was awful you had to ask for simple things like butter, milk etc.. And you would never get them, they employed young people with no experience of the trade, everyone who was on our trip was complaining. The food was not that great either. The island itself was lovely. Since returning home we have put pen to paper to complain to Shearings we are still waiting.......please don't go there are far nicer hotel on this island that are allot cheaper too.
