A 1* would be flattering this "hotel"

3rd floor, no elevator, no porter, struggle with your own suitcases.
so called shower does not work in morning or evening.If you are lucky water dribbles out cold, sometimes mixed with warm water just long enough to get the shampoo in your hair, .... then stops!!
owner manager does not care, food terrible, drinks overpriced. Menu states pay for your water at dinner..
room cleaners do not clean,only change towels. a half drunk glass of soda did not move for 6 days.

the only posative point were the friendly portuguese waiters who seemed to think the whole thing was a joke.

Just returned from our first visit to Jersey and the Talana Hotel where we stayed for 4 nights. Hotel was well run and clean with food, although a limited choice, was well cooked and tasty. Staff were very helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. There is a lovely Park (Howard Davis) very near to the hotel where you can sit in the sun and relax which we did most days on our return to the hotel as the weather was perfect. It is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel into the town itself where you can 'shop till you drop' or travel to almost anywhere on the island by local bus - they have a really good reliable service. All in all a lovely break and one well worth repeating.

We stayed for a week half board. The food was very nice and the service brilliant. Hotel very clean and the staff very friendly. Room was a good size and cleaned every day.We had a quiz night, bingo evening and live music which we did not expect. Would defenatly go again.

Just got back after a week in the most friendly, stress free hotel with excellent food and service. Our first time in Jersey we and enjoyed every minute. Easy walk to the beach and town centre with a bus stop near by (important in Jesey). Will use again as first preference. Good value too. Only regret not staying longer.

Just returned home after a week @ the Talana. Have been there once or twice a year for the last 12 years and my wife and I can't fault it. Every person that was there this week 29/09/07 until 06/10/07 said how good the food was and how reasonable the weekly rates were

Just arrived home after two weeks. We booked the Talana via the internet after reading the reviews. We were very happy with the hotel, the food was first class and the service from the owners and staff was excellent. The Talana is a small and friendly hotel not far from St Helier, there is a slight hill to climb to get to Howard Davis Park, so those with walking difficulties would need a taxi or a bust to the town. There is a bus service that passes the hotel. We enjoyed the informal, yet polite, atmosphere at the hotel where the staff and owners were lways on hand to help you with booking trips, cars etc. We would certainly stay at this hotelif we returned to Jersey again. Thank you for a lovely welcome

Have been going there before 1995 and have been back once or twice a year ever since xmas there is great so much to eat and very reasonable rates back there on sept 28 for 4 nights 2006
love it there and hope gus and santina carry on from her father franco who sadly passed away last sept

We had a great holiday here last year, we enjoyed it so much we are returning their this year, the staff were very friendly & helpful, the room & food were great as was the service. It is of easy walking distant to beach, Howard Davis Park & St Helier

Booked this hotel via Internet. What a great hotel for our first time on Jersey. Ideal situation from the centre of town and close to beaches too. The staff could not have been better; helpful and polite and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantanstic, must have put on pounds!! Would definately book this hotel again for next visit to the Island, great value for money. Loved every sunny minute of the whole week.
