This is an ole round excellent hotel lovely kind friendly helpful professional hard working staff and management and great food/service and drink I came here and ate wined dined in 2006 and also enjoyed the excellent varied entertainment and cabaret from Abba night to country western singer and a band and it was excellent I also enjoyed listening to a piano in another part of the hotel and believe there to be a disco/night club and there was Jersey Joes Cafe and other places to eat in the hotel and a lovely conservatory room which outlooks the gardens area which was very quiet and pleasant to sit in and read in and is not too far away from the lovely Howard Davis Park with the lovely rose gardens and the lovely peaceful St Lukes Church and memorial gardens and cafe conservatory which was also very pleasant to visit whilst in St Helier capital of Jersey and is in a quiet location but within walking distance to the shops and park. The Merton hotel has lots to offer including a swimming pool and sauna area etc and I found the hotel very clean and tidy and immaculate and well presented throughout and the coffee is very good too and there is a large bar in the star room where there is a variety of alcoholic drinks to choose from though I just drank orange juice and find the bedrooms and beds very comfortable and suitable for adults with/or without children but did not see many children around when I was there I fully intend to visit the Channel Islands again in 2007 when I arrive from North England and would very much consider staying there and would highly recommend it to anyone

This hotel cannot be faulted - helpful friendly staff, very clean, fabulous food, good housekeeping, value for money, excellent decor, excellent restaurants (superb carvery) friendly staff, comfortable beds, equally suitable for children and adults, loved every minute. One small moan - buses do not visit the hotel off season so a car is , in my opinion, necessary as hotel is on a hill and may cause difficulty for less agile customers. All in all though, a superb choice and will definitely visit here again. This is excellent value for money.

Top Local Tips for Jersey

Italian Can't remember the name of the restuarant but it's on the main street oppostie Bella Italia its a small italian restuarant - excellent food, wine and staff.

Rental Cars If only staying for a few days do not pay the £15.00 petrol waiver as you will not use the half tank of petrol. Book hire cars as early as possible to get the best deal, you can also use the Merton's own website to get a discount.
