Best hotel .... ever!

What a wonderful hotel: the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, obviously recently renovated, with sufficient room for a huge king sized and also a proper single for our 5 year old son. Despite it being first floor, on the back of the hotel, the designers had compensated by providing wonderful full height patio doors onto a private patio area with table and chairs.
The leisure facilities were the best I have found in a hotel. Food in the Cafe Aroma was excellent.
Only two slight negatives were that the hotel was very quiet, apparently they had quite a few cancellations as a result of the poor publicity Jersey has received recently Also the 'smarter' restaurant 'Saffrons' had a specific Eastern influenced menu which wasn't to our taste.
We will certainly recommend it to friends, and would like to return.

Initially I was disappointed as our room was very dated, however this was the only slightly negative aspect - the room was quiet and very clean. I was impressed by the high level of service by all staff and the pool area was great.

Appalling customer service

Our company stayed for a 14-day duration and had to depart 2 days early. The hotel would not refund the cost for the early departure amounting to over £312. The hotel was given prior notice to our departure and were extremely difficult to deal with. The staff regard customers with very little regard and utmost contempt. The hotel was extremely difficult to talk with and very pompous. Our company would never use the hotel again and would certainly not recommend it for business clients. Basically we have been ripped off and totally held to our booking agents T&C's, claiming a 2 week booking was cancelled early. The hotel management need to bring the Hotel policies up to date, jobs finish early!! People and bookings are flexible, shouldn't Hotels be? Appalling service, overpriced and extremely over-rated.

We found the hotel very clean and professional. Although we hadn't intended spending much time in our room, it was still a little dissappointing to look out the window only to be looking at a wall! The staff were great however, and we were offered another room. The food in Cafe Aroma was superb, and I have a feeling the gourmet Orangery restaurant would have been superb, unfortunately we ran out of time and didn't eat there. The Spa and pool areas were excellent. Extremely clean contemporary looks with fantastic facilities to boot! Next time we visit Jersey, we will be staying here.

Top Local Tips for Jersey

Eating out in Jersey There is a great choice of restaurants to suit all tastes and wallets Ate at some very good restaurants. Highly recommend Suma's in Gorey,which I visited with 8 friends. We all thought the menu was great value for money and including champagne and wines our bill was £60 per person.The Salty Dog in St Aubin also very good as it reminded me of the food in Australia. Fantastic fish and seafood selection, which if had been on the mainland would have cost far more. Dix-neuf was a favourite lunchtime spot and we booked there for an evening too. It has a grest atmosphere and everyone was very friendly. My favourite though was La Capannina. I visited this with 3 friends and the quality of food and service was superb. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, would highly recommend this restaurant. Suggest booking to save disappointment.

One way system The one-way system in St Helier seems at first haphazard and very confusing. Get a good map usually supplied by the car rental firm and take your time finding your route. Jersey drivers must be the most curteous drivers anywhere and take into account that you are on holiday so relax.

One-Way system get a satnav, if driving - one-way system horrendous nad road works make it even worse!!
