Enjoyable stay

We have just spent an enjoyable 4 days at Hotel Cristina where we had a twinroom with balcony overlooking St Aubin Bay. It was a very enjoyable stay where we found all the staff to be extremely pleasant and the breakfast delicious! The walk down to the seafront may prove a little tiring unless you are reasonably fit and the other problem we found was that not having air conditioning the room would have been a uncomfortable if we had not had patio doors opening out onto the balcony. We would certainly not hesitate in staying at Hotel Cristina on future visits to Jersey.

Top Local Tips for Jersey

Parking in St Helier My advice when parking in St Helier is not to!!! There is actually plenty of parking in multi storey car parks but there is nowhere to buy a parking ticket like in the UK. You have to go to a newsagent or petrol station beforehand to buy a book of parking vouchers. Then when you have parked you have to display these in your window. We were caught out because we didn't buy these vouchers in advance which meant we were worried about getting a parking fine while we were trying to find somewhere to buy them! So be warned - get the parking vouchers BEFORE going to St Helier.

Parking in St Helier Make sure you have purchased scratch-card parking tickets prior to arrival in St Helier, about 52 pence per hour, Sand Street multi-storey car park most central for shopping/dining. Make sure you visit central market for fresh fruit and posting flowers home.

See the other islands We went on trips to see Guernsey and Sark: I would strongly recommend this. Sark was particularly quaint and interesting.
