The short stroll to the sandy beaches was effortless.
We will return when our two children learn to differentiate and appreciate.

Top Local Tips for Jersey
Watch your speed!!! Unhelpful locals!!! Shopping!!!! Watch out for local speed limits varies from 15 to a max of 40 mph and local special police! Found locals to be very unfriendly and bad mannered especially local teenagers who I found to have no manners what so ever! (avoid King & Queen streets on a Saturday where hoards of these teenagers seem to get together.) Shop around as not all shops are VAT free - ie electrical items are cheaper in Dixons duty free at airports than electical shops in Jersey (prices again in these shops vary a lot) !!! Jewelery prices are good. Look out for sign stating shops is VAT free.
Jersey's got a lot more to offer than just Jim Bergerac!!!! Feel free to hire a car and go searching the island or use the excellent public bus service the island has.Recommended are the beautiful bays of Ouiasne (Pronounced "Waynee") and Portelet - the latter particular for the excellent Old Portelet Inn (superb food and well kept beers and lagers!) - and the lovely villages of St Brelade and St Aubins. These are all within 15/20 minutes of central St Helier. To the East of the island are Gorey (with the imposing Mont Orgueil) and the beautiful harbourside of Rozel, and the breakwater of St Catherines, where on a clear day, you'll see France ! l.By eastwards, you'll then find your way to the world Famous Jersey Zoo,and the pioneering work originally set out by the late Gerald Durrell, which is still carried on today by his wife Lee and a team of dedicated staff. Finally, the west of the island has the parish of St Ouen (pronounced "Saint Wan") with it's large strength of sandy beach, with views towards Guernsey and the famous Corbiere lighthouse.
Pallets Steam Museum Visit this museum - it's like Aladdin's Cave full of interesting things from daily life in the past, (toys, bikes, prams, kitchen objects etc) not just steam engines and cars. It is fascinating and there is something there for everyone
