We have stayed here quite a few times and it just keeps getting better, the staff are lovely and the food is excellent. I am pleased to say that since swopping ownership the hotel has improved in many ways, ie: refurbishment!
The rooms were not the best but now they have took a drastic improvement. They look lovely and have made the hotel, if possible even better than before!!! If you have a family this is the ideal place to stay!

Just got home and had to write this, everything was wonderful about our stay, the staff especially,
The price was really good, and the food far better than we expected but the chef used to be at a 4 star hotel in the island.
The entertainment on Saturday was fantastic and the locals were really friendly, our room was bright and they are refurbishing much of the hotel so our visit next year will I am sure be even better.
We will be back in summer 08 and will be in that lovely pool every day.
I had to give it a 10 because everyone was so nice and I have stayed on business in a 4 star place and had less attention. See Ya Next Year

Have guested at the Wayside Cheer on two occasions and thoroughly enjoyed both stays. Rooms are more than adequate and the food was likewise. The staff and especially the Manageress were very helpful and friendly and undoubtedly added to our enjoyable stay. Hotel is within walking distance of the coast, and is noted for some beautiful sunsets.
We'll be back!

Food, location, pool etc all great but the staff and locals really make your holiday here the best ever. "There are no strangers here, just friends who have not yet met" is certainly true enough.

We stayed at this hotel. and were initially disappointed, as the rooms seemed dark and dingy, but then the sun came out!The pool was lovely, and hotel food delicious, and the hotel ideally situated for the buses( the best way to see the island!0 AQll in all - a brilliant holiday

Book Hire Cars With The Hotel We have found that by booking a car with the hotel we have saved up to £21 a week on the same car with the same car hire company, also we always get a car with very low mileage and only a month or two old.
Book Bed and Breakfast Book Bed and Breakfast then you can either eat eavening meals in the Bar as the food is excellent and good value or ask about some of the wonderfull other restaurants there are in Guernsey.
Car Hire In many cases you can get a better Car Hire Deal booking with the Hotel when you book your stay, this was the case when we stayed at The Wayside Cheer Hotel we booked the Ferry, Car Hire and Hotel together and made a good saving.

I had read other reviews and decided to try the Wayside Cheer Hotel, it turned our to be a good decision.
The price was very reasonable and the room was much better than expected, not very big but all new furniture and a very comfortable bed.
The food breakfast and evening meals were as good as I have had anywhere and the service very friendly,
We spent several nights in the bar as there was entertainment on which was excellent.
We had a hire car which was booked for us by the hotel at a very good rate, but there is a good bus service nearby.
