Not a hotel - beware

we booked to stay here as an anniversary treat (we are local). beware that this is not a hotel but a doss hole for working builders from uk. the bar and "hotel" are not run by the same people and the restaurant is no longer open (we booked to sit in restaurant and weren't told it was bar only until we arrived for dinner). good food in bar but rubbish service, the waitresses were more concerned with flirting with the builders than taking our order and checking we had everything. The bar has adopted all the regulars from the now closed st saviours tavern who lower the tone of the bar. woken up at gone midnight by the group of builders standing outside main doors f-ing and blinding and generally being loud and annoying. no member of staff on reception between 6pm and 7am so no one to complain to or get a hairdryer from! dodgy carpet in rooms and had to remove piece of chewing gum from window handle before opening window. gross! rooms very basic. only good thing going for it is that is on a good bus route. wouldn't recommend to locals or visitors. try la grande mare hotel

We were booked into the Atlantique by Shearings due to overbooking at another hotel - we got the best deal. This hotel is a real jewel in Geurnsey's crown. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, food was terrific. We will definitely return.
