There in the middle of renovating the place however this did not detract from the stay there. It's somewhere I would not hesetate to stay again, by then it will rated 10 out of 10 as they would of finished.

Probably one of the best two star hotels you are going to get in the world!
We have had such a lovely time staying here and you are made to feel so welcome throughout nothing is any trouble, the lifts to and from the airport, also the high standard of food, mornings and evenings.
We have decided to stay at Abbey Court every time we visit our friends in Guernsey!
Thank you Ian, Thank You Karen

Really good home-made healthy food, great value for money etc, clean rooms with power shower and a friendly welcome provided throughout your stay. Great garden at the back of the hotel also for catching a tan!
Well done Ian and Karen!

Then hotel has been under new management since January 2007. Ignore the earlier 2006 reviews prior to Ian taken over. Good value for money, especially the 4 nights for the cost of 3 offer. Clean room with excellant shower. Well cooked breakfasts. We particularly also appreciated being picked up and taken back to the airport.

Lovely stay, the new owners Ian and Karen really made us feel at home. Good food, nice surrondings. Couldn't ask for anything more.

The Abbey Court Hotel has been purchased by Karen and Ian McBoyle who are currently refurbishing the Hotel to a very high standard. The food is all home made and using the best Channel Island ingredients. The feed-back so far is very positive. Rest assured your stay at the Abbey Court Hotel will be exceptional! The huge garden at the rear of the premises is a sun trap and so quiet and peaceful, considering the Hotel is within walking distance of St Peter Port. I could not recommend this Hotel highly enough!

On a cheap break, and that's what we got! Their printer wasn't working so we were unable to register; there were no lights on the stairs (and the second flight was extremely steep) and the response to a request to replace the light bulbs was "I don't think I can do anything about that"; the bar was never open and the bar, lounge and pool room were locked up by 9.00 p.m. on our first evening. However, the beds were comfortable and breakfast on the first morning was good (although the second morning was an absolute shambles - what can you expect when the waitress speaks practically no English - and only 1 out of the 4 of us received anything close to what was ordered)

The shower room had no main light no extractor fan and smelt of damp and mould, mould was on the ceiling in the shower room we had to keep shower room door closed to stop smell coming into bedroom also the room was cold and the heater did not work, the light on the staircase was not working and when it was dark I missed my footing and only just managed to save myself falling down the stairs the lounge and dining room were very nice as was the breakfast, pity about the bedroom.

I booked to stay at Abbey Court Hotel in Guernsey for a friends wedding. When I booked (well in advance) the manager told he would send out confirmation to me in the post. When this didn't arrive I became a little concerned so consequently ended up ringing three times and speaking to Mike (the manager) who on each occasion assured me that the booking was complete and he would be sending me the confirmation. Finally the week before the wedding I had a comp slip and brochure sent to me from the hotel and assumed that along with my numerous phone calls to the hotel the booking was not a problem. When we arrived at the hotel to check in a rather confused girl was on the reception desk. English was obviously not her first language and considering she was working front of house she struggled communicating with us. Through the broken English we were able to decipher that the hotel had been doubled booked and there was no proper record of my booking. The manager who I had spoken to over the telephone had gone on holiday to Thailand and had left no proper handover with his so-called cover staff. After waiting for 20 minutes at the desk a tour operator who appeared to be dealing with the mess left by the manager - appeared to apologise. We then had to be transferred to another hotel up the road, which was of a lower rating and did not have a double room, which we had wanted. Also the bathroom had no shower - but we really didn't have any choice but to take it. We became quite suspicious that there was an arrangement between the two hotels to ensure that the second hotel got additional trade. The manager of Abbey Court does not know how to run a hotel - with no proper booking structure and cover staff that can barely string a sentence together. We lost two hours of our holiday, had a lot of unnecessary stress, and did not get the facilities we thought we would be receiving whilst we were away. Even if a hotel isn't up to scratch you expect to at least get a room - especially considering the great lengths I went to ensuring it was available in the first place. You would be a fool to book this hotel. You have been warned.

Not a five star hotel but for the price the rooms are excellent value. The staff are attentive and friendly. The manager is great, helpful but not intrusive. Situated at the top of The Grange it is a ten minute walk into town and if you prefer to ride on the bus route. That is the preferable way to return as it is up hill.
