Terrific atomosphere, friendly staff, massive portions of first class food. Period style decor - with free internet access in bedrooms.
You will not regret booking.

Top Local Tips for Douglas

Car Hire Did initially have a problem with hire car companies as they seemed to want to charge very high rates. In the end we asked the Regency to recomment one and we used St Bernards which was waiting for us at the airport with our car, we booked by phone & no problems. Only a small island but a car is great to get to all the little places and see it all in a short time.

Nostalgic transport It is a must to take the steam train down to the south of the island from Douglas. The station itselff is amazing like going back to the 1940s. The food in the station (Greens) is very good too, a very high standard. A trip to Laxey is also worthwhile where you can take a trip up Snaefell mountain on the elctric train. The ride takes about half an hour and you can take in amazing views over England and Ireland. In Douglas itself the Manx museum is very interesting. It's free to get in and there is a short film in a little cinema showing the history of the island. There is an amazing exhibition of the TT there too, with bikes and films showing the TT over the decades. I would recommend taking a car over to the island just to have a tour of the island, the scenery is amazing, some parts were very similar to Cornwall.
