The worst hotel we have ever stayed at!
This is a low cost hotel, with reasonably good facilities and rooms, and in a good position for exploring many of the historical places of interest around York, but the evening food was awful and some of the staff were not too helpful.
Breakfasts were excellent.

Fantastic!
Spent two nights there and throughly enjoyed it. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. We took our 20 month old son and the staff were so helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble. Lovely location close to centre, very nice residents bar, breakfast was great!

Warm and Welcoming
We have, over the past few years, stayed at the Wheatlands Lodge Hotel when on a weekend break to York. It is a lovely place and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. The menu is ok, breakfast is good but evening dinner needs a better choice for the vegetarian (its always lasagne or broccoli cheese bake). The Hotel is situated in a perfect place with a 15 minute stroll into the centre down a very interesting road, and good variety of pubs on the way. I would recommend the Wheatlands to anyone and have certainly enjoyed every stay made over the past few years.
