Top Local Tips for York

Yorkshire Wheel Would recommend the Rail Museum which is free but you pay £6 for adults and £4 for children to go on the Yorkshire wheel which is there version of the London Eye. You have fabulous views of York and the scenery beyond. The rail museum itself is also very interesting.

York Dungeons I was miss led into thinking these where actually dungeons, but it was just a 'reenactment' of what life was like a long time ago in York. Its made up of several rooms displaying different eras and events in time. You go round in groups and at every room you are met by very talented actors who tell you all about the history. I thought it was quite expensive for what it was but the actors really made it worth your while. Its good for families but could be a bit scary for the younger children.
